Saturday the 27th
of November will mark the end of a very busy season of rallying for 2004.
Round 5 of the WA Clubman Rally Series will be hosted by the Light Car Club of WA in
Jarrahdale.
Being a Clubman round, two wheel drive only rally cars will be eligible for points toward
the series trophy. With the competition being so tight after round four of the series,
teams will be fighting hard for stage wins and the coveted first place to decide this
year's Clubman Champion.
The roads East of Jarrahdale are fast and the corners often comprise of loose, dusty
gravel. The combination of road conditions and warmer weather will make tyres all the more
important on this event. Competitors can look forward to approximately 65 km of Special
Stages through Jarrahdale, with one service during the day.
Rally HQ, the Start, Service and Finish are located centrally in Jarrahdale at the Old
Mill Site on Jarrahdale Road.
Car 1 is due to start the rally at 12:00 noon and finish at around 3:30 PM. Spectators
will be able to watch rally cars flying through the forest twice during the day. The
spectator area is at the junction of Bulldozer Road and Frollet Road Jarrahdale. Spectator
information will be available from rally HQ on the day. Spectators will also have the
opportunity to spectate rally cars being serviced at the Old Mill Site as they return from
the stages.
This year, the Darling 200 will have two new awards. Teams may be nominated with three
competing rally cars. The finishing team with the lowest aggregate score will win the
teams trophy. A Lead Foot trophy is also up for grabs this year. Trophies will be awarded
to both driver and co-driver where their stage time is one of the five fastest on every
special stage.
Volunteer officials are also required, so if you'd like a private spectator point or to
help in another way, please contact Joan Percival: Ph. 9250 1338.
Entries open for the Darling 200 Rally on the 18th of October. Supplementary regulations
and entry forms, are now available from the Light Car Club, Rally WA and WA Car Club
